I create
places and spaces
and have them speak.
Fueled by the struggle between
thought and action, I search for harmony.
Caught up in a world intent on chaos,
the hurry-worry of everyday living, and rampant consumerism
I seek in my art a refuge.
I use the language of fabric and texture in quilts to explore emotions.
To tweak the memory both visual and sensual.
To remind in a subtle way.
Although my pieces are primarily for the wall,
if you so chose, you could envelop yourself in the quilts
in the traditional way of blanketing.
Warmth. Hope. Security.
A sea of tranquility.

I want my art to speak loudly for me when I would otherwise not be heard,
and to whisper softly when the sound of speech would be intrusive.
